Brief Introduction:

Dr. Madhu Bala Singh, Scientist G, Joined ICMR, DMRC in 1984 & expertise in Micronutrient Deficiency Disorders & Nutrition & Growth. Mainly involved for last 37 years in research work pertaining to different aspects mainly MDDs, Malnutrition, Nutrition community Intervention and Dietary in desert and non desert parts of Rajasthan. Persuaded 32 research projects funded from various agencies of International and National repute viz., HarvestPlus, Washington, UNICEF; and DHR ICMR, DRDO, DFRL, MOHFW, AIIMS, etc. Awarded WHO Fellowship for undergoing training in ‘Food Safety and MDDs’ at Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand; Recognized as Ph.D. supervisor/ Reviewer for evaluation of Ph.D. thesis of foods & Nutrition from the MS University of Baroda, Vadodara, a WHO Collaborating Centre, JNV University, Jodhpur, Indore, MP and Delhi University; Nominated as Expert member of newly constituted Subject Expert Committee by DST-GOI on ‘Health, Food & Technology’ for evaluation of proposals received under Women Scientists Scheme-B, DST, New Delhi, Expert for evaluation of Research Proposal received from ‘Council of Science & Technology, UP, Vigyan Bhawan, Lucknow. Recognized as Core Member in Working Group 1 on ‘Operational & translation research to improve the contents and delivery of existing micronutrient supplementation or other programs based on existing knowledge’ under ‘Interagency group on Micronutrients’ constituted by Nutrition, ICMR, New Delhi. Awarded Fellowship of Indian Public Health Association. & Adjudged for first best paper award for oral presentation on ‘International Conference on Food and Nutrition Technology for Public Health Care’ at JNU, Delhi; Organized 14 conferences/ meetings/ Trainings and imparted Skill intensive trainings on CAB component & MDDs. Guiding M.Sc. students Dissertations (18). Published 58 research papers in International (Public Health Nutrition, Asian Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Journal of Arid Environment, Journal of Occupational Health) & National journals. Delivered 55 research papers in 76 scientific conferences/workshops (International-08 viz.I World Congress of Public Health Nutrition at Barcelona, ‘Pre congress workshop on Nutritional anemias’, Spain, Rome, Hangzau (China), Malaysia etc & National).
