आईसीएमआर–एनआईएचआर, जोधपुर में हमारा उद्देश्य स्वास्थ्य प्रणाली अनुसंधान (Health Systems Research) और कार्यान्वयन विज्ञान (Implementation Science) को मजबूत बनाना है, ताकि शोध से प्राप्त साक्ष्य भारत के सभी समुदायों के बेहतर स्वास्थ्य परिणामों में परिवर्तित हो सकें। हमारा लक्ष्य केवल नया ज्ञान उत्पन्न करना नहीं है, बल्कि यह सुनिश्चित करना भी है कि शोध के निष्कर्ष व्यावहारिक, न्यायसंगत और दीर्घकालिक तरीके से स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं, नीतियों और कार्यक्रमों में प्रभावी रूप से उपयोग किए जाएँ।
स्वास्थ्य प्रणालियाँ जटिल हैं और समय के साथ निरंतर विकसित होती रहती हैं। जनस्वास्थ्य के क्षेत्र में सबसे बड़ी चुनौतियों में से एक कार्यान्वयन अंतर (Implementation Gap) है, अर्थात् प्रमाणित और प्रभावी हस्तक्षेपों को हर व्यक्ति तक सफलतापूर्वक पहुँचाना। हम गुणवत्तापूर्ण तथा स्थानीय परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप अनुसंधान के माध्यम से इन बाधाओं की पहचान करते हैं और ऐसे समाधान विकसित करने का प्रयास करते हैं जो स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं की योजना, संचालन और गुणवत्ता में सुधार ला सकें।
हम कार्यान्वयन विज्ञान को साक्ष्य-आधारित नीति निर्माण (Evidence-Based Policy Support) के साथ जोड़कर कार्य करते हैं, ताकि राष्ट्रीय स्वास्थ्य दिशानिर्देश केवल वैज्ञानिक रूप से प्रमाणित ही न हों, बल्कि प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य देखभाल स्तर पर प्रभावी और व्यवहारिक रूप से लागू भी किए जा सकें। साथ ही, हम स्वास्थ्य प्रणाली की सुदृढ़ता (Health System Resilience) और जनस्वास्थ्य निगरानी (Public Health Surveillance) को भी विशेष महत्व देते हैं, जिससे संक्रामक एवं असंक्रामक दोनों प्रकार की स्वास्थ्य चुनौतियों का प्रभावी ढंग से सामना किया जा सके।
हमारे कार्य का केंद्र समुदाय है। हमारा मानना है कि कोई भी स्वास्थ्य हस्तक्षेप तभी सफल हो सकता है जब वह लोगों के विश्वास, उनकी स्वास्थ्य संबंधी समझ और उनकी वास्तविक आवश्यकताओं पर आधारित हो। समुदायों, स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों, शैक्षणिक संस्थानों, चिकित्सकों और नीति-निर्माताओं के साथ मिलकर हम ऐसे समाधान विकसित करने का प्रयास करते हैं जो लोगों के लिए स्वीकार्य, उपयोगी और लंबे समय तक प्रभावी बने रहें।
आईसीएमआर–एनआईएचआर, जोधपुर प्रयोगशाला में होने वाले नवाचारों, उत्कृष्ट नैदानिक सेवाओं तथा प्रभावी स्वास्थ्य नीतियों के बीच एक महत्वपूर्ण सेतु का कार्य करता है। हमारा विश्वास है कि सहयोग ही विचारों को वास्तविक और व्यापक स्वास्थ्य लाभ में बदलने का सबसे प्रभावी माध्यम है। विभिन्न क्षेत्रों की विशेषज्ञता को एक साथ लाकर हम स्वास्थ्य प्रणाली को और अधिक सशक्त बनाने तथा सभी के लिए बेहतर स्वास्थ्य परिणाम सुनिश्चित करने का प्रयास करते हैं।
मैं सभी शोधकर्ताओं, जनस्वास्थ्य विशेषज्ञों, स्वास्थ्य सेवा प्रदाताओं तथा नीति-निर्माताओं को इस महत्वपूर्ण अभियान का सहभागी बनने के लिए आमंत्रित करता हूँ। आइए, हम सभी मिलकर साक्ष्य-आधारित समाधानों को आगे बढ़ाएँ और भारत के स्वस्थ एवं समृद्ध भविष्य के निर्माण में अपना योगदान दें।
At ICMR–NIHR Jodhpur, our vision is to strengthen Health Systems Research and Implementation Science so that evidence translates into better health outcomes for communities across India. Our focus is not only on generating knowledge, but on ensuring that research informs practice, policy, and service delivery in ways that are practical, equitable, and sustainable.
Health systems are complex and constantly evolving. One of the greatest challenges in public health is the implementation gap — the difficulty of delivering proven interventions effectively at the last mile. Through rigorous and context-specific research, we aim to identify these bottlenecks and generate solutions that improve the way health services are designed and delivered.
We work to integrate Implementation Science with Evidence-Based Policy Support so that national guidelines are not only scientifically sound, but also feasible at the primary care level. This is further strengthened by our emphasis on Health System Resilience and Public Health Surveillance, helping build a stronger response to both chronic and infectious health threats.
Community engagement is central to our approach. We believe that effective health interventions must be grounded in trust, health literacy, and the needs of the people they are meant to serve. By working closely with communities, health workers, academic institutions, clinicians, and policymakers, we aim to develop interventions that are acceptable, relevant, and sustainable.
ICMR–NIHR Jodhpur also serves as a bridge between laboratory innovation, clinical excellence, and actionable policy. We see collaboration as essential to translating ideas into meaningful health impact. By bringing together diverse expertise, we can strengthen health systems and contribute to better outcomes for all.
